The mansion has a 'U' layout with two storeys and consists of porticos, iwans and rooms arranged around the ground floor and a courtyard at the upper floor. The elaborate stonemasonry stands up in door and window frames and mihrab and niches in interior spaces. The structure that had ben used as 'Memleket Hospital' at the end of 1930s, became 'Palas Hotel' later. The mansion that had been purchased from Sagtanas in 1953, was used by the General Directorate of Turkish Post Office. The building is still partially used by the PTT and the remaining parts serve as Mardin Artuklu University, Tourism and Hospitality Management Practice Hotel.
Restoration work that had been initiated in 2011 by the Mardin Artuklu University, was completed in July of 2013. All exterior facade made of stone was cleaned and preserved within the framework of restoration work. Insulation measures were taken both for interior and exterior parts as well as terraces of the building in order to prevent the building from moisture and humidity problems.
