"The Orthodox Church situationed in Mermerli District of Menemen County of the province of Izmir, was estimated to be built towards the end of the 19th century.
This is a single nave and single apse structure extending east to west. It can be entered to naos through arched narthex structure which can be accessed through stairs. There is a square-planned space of worship opening to naos through twin arches in the both two side of naos. And also these spaces of worship have doors opening to the western front.
The building was decorated with floral ornaments made of stucco. It had been used as a salt depot for many years and damaged so much and there is no any information or data about iconostasis, altar, bell tower and outbuildings. Restoration of the building has been begun in 2010 and all the works concerning this building is expected to be completed in March of 2011."
